A real history in Japan.
A clearer route to growth.

Gibbon already has a real history in Japan. The brand has long-standing credibility in slacklining, Japanese specialist content, events, riders, a Japanese web presence and existing wholesale activity.

Gibbon is not starting from zero. We will connect its existing Japanese activity to a clear, official way to buy on Amazon, explain who each product is for, and help more people discover the brand beyond the slackline community.

Gibbon in 12 months’ time

Official Amazon Presence

An agreed official seller, clear Japanese product pages, an Amazon Brand Store, advertising and regular sales reviews.

Japanese Product Understanding

Website improvements, product comparisons and clear explanations of how to set up, use and buy each product.

Japanese Reviews and Demonstrations

Japanese video reviews, demonstrations and articles that help customers research Gibbon, plus agreed content for Gibbon to reuse. We will also seek coverage from relevant blogs, specialist websites and publications.

Reaching New Customers

We expect YouTube to be the main paid partnership channel, supported by outreach to relevant blogs and media. Our native Japanese team handles research, contact, fees, agreements, content coordination and results.

Gibbon’s Website and Social Channels

A website, Amazon Brand Store and supporting Japanese social channels that keep product information and useful content easy to find.

A 12-month programme.
Test first. Then grow.

Get Amazon ready to turn existing interest into sales.

Make the right products easy to find, understand and buy, with clear Japanese listings, reliable stock and focused advertising.

Create more demand through paid partnerships and media coverage.

Use paid YouTube partnerships and outreach to blogs and publications to introduce Gibbon to more potential customers.

Test which products and audiences respond, then increase spending where sales and costs justify it.

Phase 1Months 1–3

Get Gibbon Ready to Sell on Amazon Japan

Make sure interested shoppers can find clear product information and buy from an official seller.

The work

  • Check current Amazon listings, sellers, stock, prices, reviews, brand ownership permissions and wholesale arrangements.
  • Agree who will sell on Amazon: work with the existing distributor if that supports growth, or set up Gibbon’s own Amazon seller account if needed.
  • Prepare the main product pages in Japanese, with clear copy, images and comparisons. Build the Amazon Brand Store so customers can find the right product for them.
  • Improve the Japanese website so visitors, including those arriving from creator content, understand the products and know where to buy them.
  • Record today’s searches, stock, sales, reviews, prices and competitor activity so we can measure what changes.
  • Start Amazon advertising with a controlled budget to learn which products sell and how much it costs to win a sale.
Phase 2Months 3–6

Find Which Products and Audiences Respond Best

Turn early Amazon and creator evidence into a clear decision about where Gibbon should invest further.

The work

  • Choose two or three products based on supply, price, profit margin and early customer interest.
  • Find and contact Japanese YouTubers, bloggers and specialist publications that reach the two most promising customer groups.
  • Arrange detailed videos, reviews and practical demonstrations that help people understand the products. Approach relevant editors with product samples and story ideas, including broader lifestyle, family or fitness publications where there is a clear fit. Editorial coverage is subject to each publication’s interest.
  • Test specific messages: indoor use, no-tree access, beginner progression, family play, children’s active play and an outlet for energy, board-sport balance challenge and compact home suitability.
  • Our native Japanese team will agree creator fees, what they will publish, approval steps and where Gibbon can reuse the content.
  • Use creator work to produce useful Japanese reviews and demonstrations, secure content we can reuse and learn what interests customers.
Phase 3Months 6–12

Reach More Customers and Grow What Works

Spend more on the products, audiences and creator content that show they can support sales at an acceptable cost.

The work

  • Expand paid creator work where earlier content has attracted relevant viewers and signs of buying interest.
  • Publish more Japanese reviews and demonstrations of the products that perform best, and use what we learn to develop further blog and editorial opportunities.
  • Reuse approved Japanese content across Amazon listings, Brand Store, website, social channels and appropriate paid activity.
  • Use Amazon ads to reach people searching for Gibbon and relevant products, while helping more shoppers find Gibbon in unpaid search results.
  • Consider adding more products once the initial range is selling reliably at acceptable margins.

Demand already exists.
Buying should be easier.

Japanese customers already search for Gibbon and its product categories on Amazon Japan. We need to make sure they can find the right product, understand it and buy it from an official seller with stock available.

Help interested customers find and buy Gibbon.

Confirm who sells the products, which products are available, their prices and how customers find them. Then reach more people with the products most likely to sell well.

Being known by slackliners does not automatically bring in new customers.

No clear place to buy

Wholesalers, other Amazon sellers and older content may be creating interest, but customers may still struggle to find an official seller with the right product in stock.

Which products should we lead with?

Gibbon has a broad range, but not every product should receive equal listing, advertising or creator investment. We need to choose which products to focus on first.

New customers need a reason to choose Gibbon

Slackline expertise gives Gibbon authenticity. It does not automatically explain why an active family, climber, home-fitness consumer or gym user should choose a specific product now.

Existing content is valuable but insufficient

Older Japanese content, events and riders show Gibbon’s history in the sport. They do not tell us how many people know the brand today or how many sales they create. New content should show how people could use Gibbon in their own lives.

Make it easy to discover, understand and buy Gibbon.

Do more of what works

Amazon will be the main place we direct customers to buy Gibbon. Products should be easy to find, clearly explained in Japanese and available from an official seller.

Japanese creators and reviewers will help people see the products in use and decide whether they are right for them. We will judge this work by the useful content published, the people it reaches and what we learn about potential customers.

Three routes to growth.
Choose the products to focus on first.

Outdoor Slackline Entry

Likely products: Classic Line, Jibline and family-oriented lines

Who it could suit: Accessible first slackline experience for active families, outdoor beginners, teenagers and board-sport users.

Why consider it: Help people already searching for slacklines choose their first Gibbon product.

Indoor and No-Tree Use

Likely products: Slackrack, Slackframe and Fitness Rack

Who it could suit: Homes, gyms, trainers and indoor activity users who cannot use trees or outdoor space.

Why consider it: Show people how they can use Gibbon indoors or without trees.

Compact Balance Challenge

Likely product: Giboard

Who it could suit: Climbers, boulderers, surfers, skaters, snowboarders, home-fitness users and active families.

Another audience to explore: Parents looking for an enjoyable balance activity that gives children an outlet for their energy. Family-focused creators could show how it fits into everyday play.

Why consider it: A promising option for creator demonstrations that could introduce Gibbon to people outside the slackline community.

These are options to test. We will choose the main products based on stock, profit margin, price, customer feedback, how often shoppers buy, advertising costs and suitability for creator content.

One Japan growth programme.

Total annual budget

To be agreed

The final budget will depend on the agreed work, who sells on Amazon, how many products we support and the size of the creator programme.

RSC’s work

  • Agreeing how Gibbon sells on Amazon and who controls the account
  • Japanese listing and Brand Store development
  • Ongoing advertising, search and sales analysis
  • Coordinating the website and Gibbon’s Japanese social channels
  • Product, creator and publication research
  • Contacting and working with creators, bloggers and editors in Japanese
  • Agreeing creator fees, contracts, what gets published and permission to reuse content
  • Product/sample coordination
  • Reporting results and recommending where to spend more, change or stop

Advertising, creators and other costs

  • Paid Japanese creator partnerships
  • Creating content and paying for permission to reuse it
  • Product samples and delivery within Japan where needed
  • Amazon advertising
  • Paid articles or specialist content where worth commissioning
Spend more when the results justify it.

Early spending gets Amazon ready and tests customer interest. Later spending supports the products and audiences that show they can generate sales at an acceptable cost.

THE OPPORTUNITY AHEAD
